Bracket Clock by Tompion School
A rare English bracket clock in an ebonized case with brass finials, dating to circa 1720 and attributed to the workshop tradition of Thomas Tompion, the 'father of English clockmaking.' The 8-day movement with anchor escapement strikes on a bell and features a pull-quarter repeat mechanism, allowing the owner to determine the time in the dark by pulling a cord. The silvered dial bears Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds ring, and a calendar aperture. The movement is signed on the backplate and has been serviced by a BADA-member horological conservator in 2023. All original components present.
