Kyoto Merchant Villa Collection

In partnership with a Kyoto family trust, we had the privilege of cataloguing and placing over forty pieces from a preserved Meiji-era merchant villa. The collection included lacquerware, tansu, hanging scrolls, and garden lanterns — each documented with photographic records and provenance research. Twenty-two pieces found new homes with collectors in Tokyo, Los Angeles, and Madrid. The project involved coordinating with the Kyoto City Board of Education to ensure cultural property compliance.
